Taking each persona and walking them through the emotional and physical journey of the experience allowed me to find the weak points of each user and the possible impact this experience could have for them
the Usefill App
Project: App development with in-store kiosk experience and product syncing design
Target User: Environmentally conscious consumers
Goal: To create a space where managing necessities becomes more simple, more personal, and less impactful on the environment.
Role: Concept creator, User Experience Designer, Researcher, Designer
Highlights:
- User interviews about product and shopping habits, blockers, desires
- Survey conducted and concluded routine and ease are pathways to 'doing good' and it can be a challenge to remember to use reusable bags
- Comprehensive plan for product design, kiosk experience, and digital application
- Lightweight sensor technology is available to detect weight and sync online to track usage
- Conceptual project for the User Experience Part-time course at General Assembly in D.C.
This experience was more than just an app - it was a whole system of reusable products from in your home to in the store. How did that cycle work and where were the touchpoints- how did different users journey through it and what was it solving.
While in the store, the user could be coming up as a new experience user, or as a returning user and this needed to be taken into consideration. The app becomes a factor to keep the user synced up and make reusing packaging useful for the user and better for the environment.
When home, the user flow was about managing your product inventory and getting notifications when your product needed a refill.
Price and location became important factors for those that wanted to help the environment and also get the necessities they use frequently. Having a list in hand (either written or on the phone) was how a user typically shopped and so it made sense to create an app that could support a shopping list while also supporting personal product inventory.
